Increasing the Minimum Wage Geri Huser knows the value of hard work, and has always fought for working families. She worked to increase the minimum wage by $2.10 an hour and provided additional child care funding so working parents can afford day care for their children.
Expanding Job Training Huser fought to expand job training programs through our community colleges so we can attract new businesses to our area and create good-paying jobs. Investing in Education As a mother whose children have gone through our public schools, Geri has been a champion of Iowa's public education. She has consistently worked to ensure Iowa invests in our public schools, community colleges, and universities. That's why she is supported by the Iowa State Teachers Association. Retaining Quality Teachers Geri fought to raise teacher pay so that Iowa's schools can continue to attract and retain the best teachers in America. Continuing Our Commitment to Seniors Geri worked to provide pension, social security, and property tax relief for seniors. And she fought to ensure the funding of the Senior Living Trust Fund. Ensuring Quality Health Care Huser worked to expand health care coverage to 17,000 additional Iowans. And she voted to improve funding for programs that provide health care for Iowa's children and the elderly.
